…Delrin® cannot be used for the visual casing parts, right? – wrong!
The Cap and Body components demonstrate the appealing surface finish possible with Delrin – with many color options also feasible. Labels adhere well to the material surface and various compatible printing options exist, such as pad printing and laser marking, to enable for product identification or dosing indications.
For external parts Delrin can be designed in thinner sections than alternatives, meaning less material is used per component, which also translates to faster injection molding cycle times. The additional mechanical strength of Delrin enables robust constructions for added safety and the potential to design unlocking features for ease of disassembly at end of life.
How is This Achieved
Delrin® is a high flow material for easier part filling. Enabling thinner wall sections to be designing without compromising part performance.
With incorporation of special additives, Delrin® SC698 WT848 can be laser marked so that important visual information, such as QR codes, can be incorporated onto the parts in a fast and cost-effective way.
