Delrin® Product Sheet
Delrin® Renewable Attributed RASC655
for Medical Grade Applications
Product overview
Delrin® RASC655—a medium-viscosity acetal homopolymer
that is ideal for medical grade applications requiring the highest
mechanical properties—supports your sustainability goals with:
• Base polymer produced from 100% certified bio-feedstock from waste
and accredited through the International Sustainability and Carbon
Certification (ISCC) mass balance certification system
• 73% lower product cradle-to-gate carbon footprint
• Reduction of non-renewable fossil resource usage
SC designates Delrin resin grades that are produced under strict
manufacturing controls, undergo extensive testing and comply
with broad regulatory requirements to align with medical grade
product needs including:
Delrin® RASC655 base polymer is produced from certified
sustainable resources and under special control for medical grade
applications. It delivers top-class mechanical properties with
reduced lifecycle greenhouse-gas emissions and lower
fossil resource use.
• Manufactured according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Sterilization data on record
• Selected USP Class VI compliance
• Relevant ISO 10993 compliance
• Global availability
Thanks to the mass balance approach, Delrin® RASC655 offers
the same superior performance and quality as Delrin® SC655
with a lower global warming potential (GWP). (A three panel peer
reviewed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) was conducted on the
Delrin® RA product in accordance with ISO 14040/14044.)

The use of reground Delrin® has almost no influence on
mechanical properties and molding performance. Five passes
with 100% reground material are possible without any negative
effect on mechanical properties. Using Delrin increases your
internal recycling rate and achieves substantial environmental
and financial savings.

In addition to the ability to make durable parts at possibly higher
production rates, you can count on Delrin for consistent quality
and supply stability, as well as the design, technical and processing
support you need to ensure high-quality parts that deliver on their
promise. For the highest rigidity, best spring-like forces, low creep
and USP Class VI and ISO 109993 compliance, Delrin® RASC655
acetal is an ideal sustainable medical polymer material.

Certified sustainability
Delrin® RASC655 is produced using renewable methanol,
produced from waste. A mass balance chain of custody is used
to produce our renewable resin: feedstock from fossil and
renewable origin are mixed within the production units.
A fraction of the final product, equivalent to the amount of
sustainable feedstock used upstream, is labelled renewable.
The supply chain is certified by the International Sustainability
and Carbon Certification (ISCC) system.

Enable sustainable design
Delrin® RASC655 delivers superior performance
compared to competitive medium molecular weight (MMW)
copolymers, as well as competitive high molecular weight (HMW)
copolymers. With higher tensile properties (+15%) and increased
impact resistance (+30%) achieved on a significantly better flow,
Delrin® RASC655 permits the design of parts with thinner walls
while maintaining full functionality.
Designing lighter parts with Delrin® RASC655 saves energy,
resources and money.
